The Festive Bride by Diana Lesire Brandmeyer

The Festive Bride is #9 in “The 12 Brides of Christmas” series.
I really liked this story set in Southern Illinois in 1886. I really liked how it was so real. Roy Gibbons
becomes a widow with 2 young girls moves away from his family to try to escape the memories. He finds it very hard to raise his girls, work and run the farm. When the girls ask for a Mommy for Christmas it gets Roy to thinking about a marriage of convenience. When one of his girls gets sick Doctor Pickens arrives to see the little girl and it just happens his single daughter Alma is with him. Well, the Doctor wants his daughter to marry & Roy needs a wife, the girls want a Momma but Alma Pickens has her own thoughts on the matter. No way, no how is she marrying Roy in a few short days. If, and she says if she marries there is going to be some courting going on first! This was a delightful story and I really enjoyed it. I was gifted this e-book by Barbour Publishing for my honest opinion which I have given.
