My Heart Belongs in Ruby City, Idaho by Susanne Dietze

My Heart Belongs in Ruby City, Idaho: Rebecca’s Plight

Is it possible to marry the wrong man? This story proves it is.. Loved how Rebecca married the wrong T. Fordham and then found that she loved the new life she was fitting into waiting for an annulment. Action, some very interesting characters and the sweet romance.. Enjoyed this from start to finish and I hope there will be another story in Ruby City.

About the book:

Is it possible to marry the wrong man? Rebecca Rice was looking forward to a quiet life and a full stomach by becoming mail-order bride to her shopkeeper intended, Mr. Fordham—until the justice of the peace calls him Thaddeus, not Theodore, proceeded by the title Deputy. Rebecca would never marry a lawman like her father, so an annulment seems in order—and fast, since Rebecca’s true intended is impatient to claim her as his own. But when the legalities take longer than expected, Rebecca wonders if Tad Fordham wasn’t the right husband for her all along. . . .

Looking Glass Lies by Varina Denman

Looking Glass Lies by [Denman, Varina]  This author deals with some very hard topics here with compassion and honesty.. This one will give you new perspective on mental health and counseling. Hard topics, gripping story!

A poignant and relatable novel, Looking Glass Lies captures the war women wage against themselves, and the struggle to see beauty reflected in a mirror not distorted by society’s unrelenting expectations.

For most of her adult life, Cecily Ross has compared herself to other women—and come up short. After a painful divorce from her emotionally abusive husband, Cecily returns to her hometown of Canyon, Texas, looking to heal.

But coming home isn’t what she expects. In a town as small as Canyon, her pain is difficult to escape—especially with her model-perfect ex–sister-in-law working at the town’s popular coffee-shop hangout. With help from her father, a support group, and an old friend who guides her to see her own strengths, Cecily may have a shot at overcoming her insecurities and learning to love again.

The true test comes when tragedy strikes, opening Cecily’s eyes to the harmfulness of her distorted views on beauty—and giving her the perfect opportunity to find peace at last.

a fragile hope by CYNTHIA RUCHTI

       a fragile hope

One-word prayers carry as much weight as those most carefully constructed ~ Seedlings & Sentiments from the “Faith” collection. (from a fragile hope)

This story is one of a couple very much in love but so far apart in the skill of good communication. AND..  He writes books on marriage!  When a tragic accident on an icy night leads to questions he can only guess at..  I kept wanting to shake him and say,  “Get all the facts Josiah!”  Josiah’s emotional thoughts are powerful. This was a story of pain, sorrow, faith and yes.. joy!   Get this one, it’s one that will touch you!

ABOUT THE BOOK: Josiah Chamberlain’s life’s work revolves around repairing other people’s marriages. When his own is threatened by his wife’s unexplained distance, and then threatened further when she’s unexpectedly plunged into an unending fog, Josiah finds his expertise, quick wit and clever quips are no match for a relationship that is clearly broken.

Feeling betrayed, confused, and ill-equipped for a crisis this crippling, he reexamines everything he knows about the fragility of hope and the strength of his faith and love. Love seems to have failed him. Will what’s left of his faith fail him, too? Or will it be the one thing that holds him together and sears through the impenetrable wall that separates them?

Some fun reads!

The Starlight Inn by Lucie UlrichStarlight Inn

Stranded in a blizzard at a beautiful Inn, a delightful older lady that becomes a true friend and that gentleman that steals your heart.. This was one that was a perfect Christmas romance and holiday read! I’d certainly recommend this one.

ABOUT THE BOOK: On her way to celebrate her birthday and Christmas with her family, Ella Dixon finds herself trapped in the middle of a blizzard. She seeks refuge at The Starlight Inn. Though the inn is full, an elderly guest offers to share her room. Accepting the kind offer, Ella soon realizes Tillie Spencer isn’t your average “little old lady.” She knows things nobody else does, and appears to come and go on a whim.

Anything For A Mystery (Christian cozy mystery) (A Nosy Neighbor Mystery Book 1) by [Hickey, Cynthia]

Anything For A Mystery (Christian cozy mystery) (A Nosy Neighbor Mystery Book 1) by Cynthia Hickey

This was so fun to read.. I can totally see nosy neighbors doing this. What starts out as a walk about for the Neighborhood Watch Program suddenly turns into an attack and a murder! As as author, Stormi just can’t let this mysterious murder be left to the Police and she starts her own investigation. Oh my! The trouble she stirs up and gets into. Murder, mysteries, mishaps like squeezing through a doggie door and getting stuck! There was even some romance for this romance writer to make this a fun  and entertaining story.    I requested and was gifted a copy from and this review is voluntary.

Grace be a Lady (Love & War in Johnson County #1)Grace Be A Lady by Heather Blanton

What a way to survive! Grace was a wealthy lady that now has to pretend to be a young man to get a job on a small ranch to survive. She desperately wants to save enough money to return to Chicago and retrieve her son. Her husband was wealthy, an abuser and banished her to “Misery” Wyoming with a warning to never return. This is a story of overcoming the hand life has dealt you and coming out a winner. Great characters and lots of interesting happenings that had me rooting for her all the way!

Of Moose and Men: Lost and Found in Alaska    Of Moose And Men by Torry Martin & Doug Peterson: Lost and found in Alaska

This was an entertaining book and I found myself sharing it with my husband because he wanted to know what I was smiling so much about.. There was a moose with it’s head stuck through the window, a reindeer trapped in the kitchen and bears in the yard. This fellow made me smile, laugh out loud, think and yes, remember how much God loves me! He writes like a comedian but with a seriousness that had me finding the underlying message he so much was wanting to share with me. What God has done for him… He can do for me! I would definitely recommend this one.

365 Pocket Morning Prayers

This morning prayers devotional is one for “Strength and Joy to Begin Each Day”.. The size is 4 x 6 with a leather like cover which made it easy to hold. There is a ribbon to keep your place which I really like. The introduction says prayer is a privilege, prayer is personal and prayer is powerful and I agree that this book will support and encourage me to begin my day in prayer and in turn  strengthening my faith.  I did like that I could turn to a specific topic or just read straight through. I really liked that there are sections so that I could choose to pray in praise, confession or be given a challenge for the day. Each day has a prayer and a scripture verse that will help me start my day in a positive way. I think it is a very nice devotional and I know I will enjoy it for the next 365 days. Not only to start my mornings but throughout my day.

Hidden in My Heart Scripture Memory Bible, NLT

I rePackagingally enjoyed reading through this Bible. It reads easy and the verses for memorizing are highlighted and in  three offered versions. This would be a great family time study Bible. I know I like how it’s laid out and memorizing along with children makes for a great family time study. There is some information at the beginning of each book that helps you know more about what you will be reading. There is a lot of lists and topics to use at the back of this book that will also aid in studying. Another fun thing about this Bible is that it comes with  a download code for scripture memory songs for the 100 Core Verses. I found it easy to get to the songs and the singers were fun to listen to and the songs relevant to the verse being memorized. I think they will be easy to memorize and sing along with. I think this is a very nice Scripture Memory Bible that will see a lot of use.

ABOUT THIS BIBLE:  Scripture memorization grounds kids in the faith, equips them for the future, and solidifies relationships with Christ, family, and others. The Hidden in My Heart Scripture Memory Bible was created to encourage kids not only to read God’s Word but also to hide it deep within their hearts. One hundred of the Bible’s core verses have been set to music by renowned children’s author and song writer Stephen Elkins. The 100 songs include a variety of genres and are available in the New Living Translation, New International Version, and King James Version, and all songs are free with the purchase of the Bible. Additional interactive features encourage school-age kids to engage with the Word in every place of their life.
