In college, Griffin McCray and his four best friends had their lives planned out. Griffin and Luke Gallagher would join the Baltimore PD. Declan Gray would head to the FBI and Parker Mitchell would go on to graduate school as a crime scene analyst. But then Luke vanished before graduation and their world–and friendships–crumbled.

Now Griffin is a park ranger at Gettysburg, having left life as a SWAT-team sniper when a case went bad. The job is mostly quiet–until the day he captures two relic hunters uncovering skeletal remains near Little Round Top. Griffin just wants the case to go away, but charming forensic anthropologist Finley Scott determines that the body is modern–a young social justice lawyer missing since spring–and all evidence points to the work of an expert sniper. When FBI agent Declan Gray takes over the case, past and present collide. Griffin soon realizes he’ll need to confront some of the darkest days of his life if he–and those he cares about–are going to escape a downward spiral of murder that crosses continents.

My Thoughts:   This book was just what I expected from a book listed as mystery & suspense! We have a body found and it quickly is determined to be a murder. When we learn the man who found the body is a retired sniper and he tells the investigators that this was a shot made from a long distance.. The investigation takes on a new direction and the hunt for the killer is on! A lot of action and the process of the investigation and the  “skills and expertise” of this team kept me turning the pages!  If you like a good team work suspense with good detail, you will like this one..

I was gifted a copy to review from NetGalley and Bethany House Publishers.

Desperate Escape by Lisa Harris

WOW.. I certainly lost time as I escaped into this book! I found it action packed from the first page.. When Dr. Madison Grant was kidnapped by Rebels, Special Ops. Grant Reese was going in to bring her home and into West Africa we go on a rescue mission. Courage, suspense, running for their lives and just the right amount of romance! I found this an exciting, clean read with a thread of faith that I wanted to read in one setting! If you like to escape into a book.. this one will do it!
